A presentation of Sir Henry Rider Haggard, a popular author seen in Victorian St Leonards, given by Jude Montague.
By the late 19th century, explorers were uncovering ancient civilisations and Sir Rider Haggard’s books captured the public’s imagination then and remain in print today.
Ms Jude Montague (PhD History of Film and Visual Media, Birkbeck) is a media historian and writer as well as an artist based at Montague Armstrong. She is the author of three graphic novels and is writing a long term series about the fictitious adventures of the young Alfred Hitchcock. She has written on early British film production, and the history of journalism and actuality film. She worked at Reuters Television News as an archivist for many years and is a poet.
