The talk will begin at 4pm sharp on Sunday April 13th, 2025, in the Burton Room of the Royal Victoria Hotel, TN38 0BD. Members free entry, non members £5 entry.  A talk given by chef & writer, Ian Dowding, called ‘Turn Back Time’, he will take us on an informative journey around the food enjoyed by different social classes in Regency England.
Ian has worked in the restaurant trade for over forty years. The original Head Chef of The Hungry Monk in Jevington when it opened in 1968, he went on to open his own restaurant in 1988 called Quincys, Seaford. The originator of the famous Banoffi Pie at The Hungry Monk in 1971, Ian has worked as a restaurant consultant & writer, as well as a television chef or food adviser on ‘Regency House Party’ (2003, Channel 4), ‘The Diets that Time Forgot’, and ‘Turn back Time’, for BBC1.
